Uganda Film and Television Institute, UFTI offers a wide range of consultancy services primarily to local and central government institutions, local and international government and non-governmental aid organizations and the private sector. Areas of specialization include Television and Radio production, Media Research and Consultancy, and hands on media training.

MEDIA PRODUCTION: Involved in varied media productions such as radio serial dramas, television feature films, dramas and documentaries.

MEDIA CONSULTANCY: Carry out communications development consultancies for clients that seek to bring about behavioral change and foster development among given target audiences. Handle public relations undertakings with different motivations from damage control to creating awareness or simply earning our clients recognition. Our research wing specializes in gathering and analyzing data about the media industry.

MEDIA TRAINING: We are the only institute in Uganda that supplements its media training with a hands on component ranging from analogue and digital Visual and audio editing, to microphone technique and field shooting excursions with DV, and Beta pro Cameras and the latest professional software available on market.


 
 

MS Denmark: “The Silent Tribe”. An anthropological documentary directed by Geoffrey Senoga, shot in Denmark, looking at the national psyche and character of the Danes.

Ministry of Finance: “Uganda steering towards Economic Recovery and development.” A documentary showcasing Uganda’s economic miracle in the aftermath of war, between the years 1986 to 1994, when the country’s economic growth peaked at 7 % per year (among the fastest growing economies in the world then) after years of experiencing negative growth. It was directed by David Mutebile and directed by George Sengendo.

Republic of Uganda: “ Road to democracy”. Profiled the democratization process of Uganda since independence (1962) to 1996. Faustin Misanvu and Geoffrey Senoga directed it.

National Social Security Fund: “Save for the Future.” A Docu-Drama made to sell the benefits of social security to the general public.

Uganda Bureau of Statistics: “2002 Census Documentary.” With funding from the ministry of finance and economic planning (Uganda) and UNFPA, UFTI was commissioned to make a 30 minutes documentary with the motive of stimulating public interest in the participation of the census.

UNICEF: “Sheila through the storm”. This is a 46 minutes film on the girl child in Uganda.

World Health Organization: “Dangerous Decisions” A 66 minutes Tele-drama sponsored by the World Health Organization, made on safe motherhood in Uganda.

AIDS Control Programme: “The lost Victory” & “Friends in Need.” Both are educative entertaining dramas about Aids, made to steer free discussion on the disease in the public with the aim of ultimately bringing about behavioral change and also killing stigmatization. George Sengendo directed both dramas.

ILO and Federation of Uganda Employers: “It’s Not Easy.” An award winning a Tele-Drama on Aids (Prix Futura –youth category – 1991), directed by Faustin Misanvu, assisted by George Sengendo.

FAMILIY PLANNING ASSOCIATION Of Uganda: “ADPTED TWINS.” A 72’’ minute’s telefilm profiling the plight of Teenage Pregnancies.

MINISTRY OF HEALTH: “MOTHERS WITH DISABILITIES” A 25” Docu-drama about the reproductive rights, problems and solutions for women with disabilities. 2002

Based on the needs of the client, the company also undertakes advanced documentary packaging, such as Cinema Truth and Indirect narrative. Some of these are not accommodated in the conventional documentary packaging, but may well suite the client better depending on the intention of the package. Our team of competent researchers with advanced analytical skills safeguards us against the production of superficial documentaries that are at present flooding the market.
