General Information

Uganda Film and Television Institute is having courses in the fields of Film, Television, Radio Production, Information Computer Technology, Photography and other multimedia programs.

The Institute is offering the Uganda National Diploma in Journalism. The Diploma will have emphasis on General Television and Radio Production. The Uganda National Diploma in journalism is examined and awarded by the Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB).

UFTI also offers Specialized courses in the communication and broadcasting fields. Such courses are suitable for people who have limited time to study, but still want to attain a valuable education, say for people who can only have the weekend free.

Admission Policy

These programs are open to all persons that meet the criteria of the registration form. The individual should have completed his/her A' Level and obtained 2 principal passes at the same sitting. (Students who did not sit for UNEB UACE should present its equivalent). Intelligent, ethical, articulate and active individuals are encouraged to peruse the Institute's programs.

Specialized courses and Computer courses are open for registration anytime of the year and do not have any minimum qualification requirements, apart from the Certificate in Digital Video Editing, and the Certificate in Desktop Publishing which assume prior computer knowledge. Other course prerequisites can be got from the registrar at our offices in Rubaga.
