Renowned Film Director and Producer; Mira Nair visited Uganda Film & Television Institute, when

she was on a holiday in Uganda. New York based Mira is remembered for her Oscar Nominee film

"The Monsoon Wedding" and her all time classic "Mississippi Masala" in which Award winning actor

Denzel Washington played a role. Mira also Produced "The Karma Sutra."

During her visit, she talked with the UFTI Students about the International Film industry...and the

stage of film in Africa and India. They even got a chance of previewing "The Monsoon Wedding"

with Mira Nair herself. Mira later talked with UFTI Producers and Directors about a collaborative

production with her New York based Mirabai Films - in a big project they called MAISHA.
